Mid 3rd week work

I was kindly assisted by Simon and Matt tonight and we go loads done. Simon filled almost all the downstairs chases whilst Matt and I wired all the TV points, telephones and cat5e network. We also installed our first few central heating pipes and had a general clear up.

Weekend 3

On Saturday I was kindly assisted by Simon who prepared and fixed all the electrical boxes on the ground floor - a major step forward. I also prepared and fixed back all the boxes upstairs as well.

On Sunday I had the help of both Matt and Martin. We installed all of the conduits, and I drilled all of the joists ready for the cabling and pipes. We wired the ring main for the main house and the ground floor lighting circuit. Most of the ground floor conduits were fixed back ready for filling.

Where to Start?

So I've started a small project; to modernise a house. Two days ago, walking through the front door was like stepping back 35 years in time. The carpets, wall paper and curtains were retro to say the least.

The idea of this blog is to record the (hopeful) progress of the modernisation of my house. If you know me, then of course you can come round anytime for a look - but make sure you wear your work clothes ;)

Two days on, the house is a bare shell - no carpets, kitchen, bathroom and most impressively, hardly any wallpaper!

So to try and list the work this weekend, here's a list:

Storage heaters removed
Fireplace removed
All carpets removed
Lounge wallpaper removed
Bedroom 1 wallpaper removed
Bedroom 2 wallpaper removed
Bedroom 3 wallpaper removed
Bathroom stripped out
Kitchen stripped out
Conservatory removed
Water to bathroom, hws and kitchen isolated and stripped out
Hall / Lounge glass partition removed.

I think thats about it. There's a rather large pile of rubish awaiting a skip next weekend. This weekends thankyou's go to Dave & Dan and Jen & Jon for their help, thanks :)
